Koenigswinter is a popular city on the right bank of the Rhine at the foot of the Siebengebirge. It is located south of Bonn at the exit of the lower one Middle Rhine and the beginning of the Lower Rhine.

It is known Drachenfels with Germany's oldest rack railway.

It has been since 1922 Siebengebirge the oldest nature reserve in Germany, with Drachenfels, Großem Ölberg (460 m) and Petersberg (331 m) in the urban area next to it Bad Honnef with the Löwenburg (455 m) the most visited mountains in the nature park.
