In the Pelagic Islands there is a Mediterranean climate with little rain and a warm summer (up to 45 °C) lasting from May to October. The winters are mild.

Flora and fauna

Geographically located in the middle of the Mediterranean, the Pelagic Islands are a place where the flora and fauna of the warmer eastern waters and the cooler western waters influenced by the Atlantic currents converge.

On the north side are high cliffs and deep caves. Lampedusa is the only one non-volcanic island around Sicily.
