The state São Paulo lies in the southeast Brazil. It is the most populous and economically important in the country. In addition to the capital, the beaches on the Atlantic coast, which are picturesquely framed by coastal mountains, are particularly interesting for travelers.
The state borders in the north Minas Gerais, in the east Rio de Janeiro, in the south Paraná and in the west Mato Grosso do Sul.

- An archipelago with mostly intact nature, several wild paths and beaches and the most important sailing destination in the country
- 6 Serra da Bocaina National Park
- A large rainforest reserve between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro with original and regenerating Atlantic rainforest

- Community with dozens of kilometers of coastline with dozens of beaches surrounded by rainforest. Many are completely deserted outside (and some even within) the high season. Also one of the most important surfing destinations in the country
