Nature parks have been set up on both sides, which also inspire with tropical flora and fauna and are also partially accessible for wheelchairs.
- 1 Itaipu
, Reservoir, joint project of the states Brazil and Paraguay on the Brazilian-Paraguayan border. There the Paraná river was dammed into a 200 km long and 20 km wide reservoir. The 18 turbines on the dam supply all (!) Paraguay and around 15% of Brazil with electrical energy; In quantitative terms, the Itaipu Dam will be the largest dam in the world until the Three Gorges Dam in China is completed.
