By train and bus

The next train station is in Marktredwitz, then continue with line 3: Marktredwitz - Bad Alexandersbad - Wunsiedel -Tröstau - Nagel - Brand (Opf.) - Mehlmeisel - Fichtelberg and back with the VGF Verkehrsgemeinschaft Fichtelgebirge.

About the Autobahn 9 Berlin-Nuremberg, exit Bad Berneck or Bayreuth, continue on federal road 303 towards Marktredwitz, or about the Highway 93 Regensburg-Hof, Marktredwitz exit, continue on federal road 303 towards Bayreuth.

By bicycle

The Bridge cycle path Bavaria-Bohemia starts here. Tröstau is a wonderful place for cyclists who just want to explore the area, but also for ambitious mountain bikers. The forest roads are sometimes quite steep up the mountains - often for a refreshing stop, but those who would like to stay on paved paths can do so by driving into the Czech Republic. Since Tröstau is right in the middle of the horseshoe-shaped Fichtel Mountains, there are great paths in all directions. There are some inns and private renters who offer bicycles for guests free of charge.

  • The 4 Girgelhöhle is a rock cave on the Höhenweg between Silberhaus and Hoher Matze. The cave can be crossed by stairs.
  • The 1 Prince rock is a lookout point on a rock that can be climbed by steep stairs.

  • The 1 Waldbad is located on the western outskirts right next to the tennis courts. With swimmers and non-swimmers, there is a bathing island in the middle of the lake. Changing rooms, sanitary facilities and a kiosk are located in the central building. There are various play equipment around the lake. Entry is free.
  • 2 In the district of Fahrenbach there is an 18-hole golf course. Namely "Schloss Fahrenbach". It has a driving range and, due to its mountainous location, has tricky difficulties for golfers.
  • The Hammerherrenschloß with its ponds is located in the Leupoldsdorf district.

For anglers or walkers, families with children or simply nature lovers a place to swim, relax and switch off.

  • Tröstau has 4 tennis courts. Near the forest pool with red sand. Guests can play there too.
  • There is a large riding facility in the Vordorf district. You can ride there in the hall or on the tournament area and also take part in riding courses.
  • Interested in the geology of one of the oldest mountains in the world, the Fichtel Mountains. There is a geology educational trail in Tröstau, and an overview map is available in the community.
  • Kiddies - off to the "Bergwiesen" adventure playground For children of all ages. With table tennis table.
  • Tröstau has its own glider airfield where guests can also take off on a sightseeing flight.

  • There are groomed trails around Tröstau and lead in different lengths, e.g. around the Köseine.

They connect to other trails, such as to Bad Alexandersbad or Nagel. There are other trails in the districts of Tröstau with different degrees of difficulty, but all in beautiful natural surroundings. And when there is snow - always well cared for.
