The Bridge cycle path is a Railway cycle path by the Fichtel Mountains and meanders from Tröstau by Upper Franconia to the Czech Aš. You cross a hilly landscape, the encounters with the A 93 are not so nice. Compared to other railway cycle paths, there are long through-roads on local roads.
The route is part of one of the two Euregio Egrensis long-distance cycle routes and D-Route 5.

- Slopes: the route has a slight gradient, as most of the time a former railway line is used. Very short sections on ramps have steep gradients.
- Path condition: Except for the local area of Tröstau, the route is paved.
- Traffic load: the through-roads are frequent and sometimes long, short passages have to be covered on country roads.
- Suitable bike: Everyday bike sufficient.
- Family suitability: suitable for families with school children
- Inline suitability: because of the many interruptions, a section must be selected.

getting there
With public transport
Fichtelberg is far away from the railway lines and can only be reached by bus. There are bus connections to the train stations in Willow Hill, Bayreuth and Marktredwitz.
Local public transport in the Nuremberg metropolitan region is operated by the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association VGN operated. It is possible to use different means of transport, such as bus, train, S-Bahn or U-Bahn, with one ticket. The tickets can be purchased online or via an app.
From May 1st to October 3rd, the Fichtelgebirge are in the Cycle buses to disposal. They leave on Sundays and public holidays Bayreuth to Fichtelberg.
Aš is on the railway lines Cheb–Oberkotzau and Aš–Adorf
Return trip
The return journey from Aš to Fichtelberg is difficult by public transport. You can take the train from Aš to Marktredwitz and then take the bus without a bike to Fichtelberg. Another possibility would be to start from Bayreuth, with the bike bus to Fichtelberg and then from Aš by train back to Bayreuth.
