The Wetterau is north of Frankfurt in Hesse.

The journey from Frankfurt am Main is possible from the main station with the S-Bahn line 6. This leads through Bad Vilbel, Karben, Nieder-Wöllstadt, Bruchenbrücken and Friedberg. There is also a regional train connection via Friedberg and various bus connections.

Munzenberg castle ruins

The imposing castle ruin with its two round towers is the landmark of the Wetterau. In the High Middle Ages, the complex was one of the most important castles in Germany. A tower of the ruin can be climbed (beautiful panoramic view over the Wetterau).

Local mountain

The 486 m high elevation is about 5 km southwest of Butzbach. Since the end of May 2008, the 1 Lookout tower on the local mountain.
