Wołkowyja is a mountain town in the voivodeship Subcarpathian in the southeast Poland by doing Sanok-Turka Mountains at the foot of the Bieszczady in the Forest Carpathians at the Santhat is south of the place for Solina reservoir is jammed. The place is at the southwest end of the lake.

The place was founded in 1463 under Wallachian law. With the First Partition of Poland, the place came to the Habsburgs. After the First and Second World War he became Polish again. After the reservoir was flooded in 1968, part of the village sank into the lake. Many of the bays here are still very wild.

By plane

The international Krakow Airport located northwest and the international Rzeszów Airport north of Wołkowyja.

By train

Werlas is by train from Krakow reachable. The place is south of the railway line Nowy Sącz-Sanok. In Zagórz you have to change to the bus.

By bus

Regional buses go to Rzeszów and the surrounding towns.
