The village Graswang lies in the valley floor of the Graswang valley in the Ammergau Alps, Upper Bavaria.

background

From an administrative point of view, Graswang is a district of Ettal. There is no exact evidence for the beginning of the place, but there are indications that Graswang is older than the Ettal Abbey itself (Foundation Day in 1330). The ending -wang is traced back to Germanic origins.

The village lives mainly from agriculture and tourism.
