Kyoto(Japanese: 京都 府, Kyōto-fu) is a prefecture in the region Kansai, Japan.

The Kyoto prefecture borders on the to the north Japanese sea. To the west is the prefecture Hyogo, Osaka and Nara lie to the south, in the east it borders Kyoto Shiga, Mie and Fukui.
