Ladakh is a high mountain region and union territory in North India. Ladakh lies on the upper reaches of the Indus and is one of the most sparsely populated regions in India. The main risk in this region is altitude sickness. For this reason, tours over 6000 m are subject to approval. Altitude sickness can occur at significantly lower altitudes. Adequate hydration and slow acclimatization are crucial. At the first signs of altitude sickness, descending into deeper regions is the most effective and only definitive help.

Climate and travel time
