getting there
In the east-west direction, North Thuringia is excellent over the new Südharzautobahn A 38 reachable. A second highway that A 71, leads from direction Erfurt to Northern Thuringia and flows into Sangerhausen in the near Saxony-Anhalt into the A 38.
The runs parallel to the A 38 Southern Harz Railway Line of Hall to kassel. Although this is a double-track and electrified main line, it is only used by local trains. Another important rail connection leads from Gotha above Mulhouse to Leinefelde and flows there into the southern Harz route. It is used by regional express trains on the route Glauchau–Goettingen drive on. The next long-distance traffic stops are in Göttingen, Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe or Gotha.
The closest airports with scheduled flights are Leipzig Halle Airport(IATA: LEJ), Hanover Airport
(IATA: HAJ) and are a little further away, but can be easily reached by train (approx. 2-3 hours). As travel time to airport Frankfurt
(IATA: FRA) a large number of international connections should take about four hours, depending on the connection.
