Krzemionki is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the polish Voivodeship Holy Cross in the valley of Kamienna, a tributary of the Vistula, on the Kielcer Plateau at the foot of the Heiligkreuzgebirge. The prehistotic place is in the historical Sandomirer country, a part Lesser Poland.

By plane

The closest international Airport is located north of Rzeszów at the Autostrada A4. Another international Airport are at Krakow. The smaller one Lublin Airport at Lublin is not far away either.

By train

The place does not have a train station. The nearest train station is about five km away Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski.

By bus

Intercity buses run regularly to Kielce and long-distance buses to other cities in the region.

In the street

The road network is well developed.

The A4 runs from Germany and also from Poland Autostrada A4 means to the limit. Behind Krakow leave the A4 motorway and take the DK79 road along the Vistula in the direction of the Vistula Sandomierz. It's not far from there.

Alternatively, from southern Germany and Switzerland you can use Prague drive.

From Austria you drive over Brno and then from the Polish-Czech border the Autostrada A1.

The town center is easy to explore on foot.

Tourist Attractions

The place is world-famous due to its stone age flint quarry. Flint was mined here in the Stone Age around 6000 years ago and traded throughout Central Europe. It was the largest flint mine in Europe. Today an archaeological site and a museum commemorates the prehistoric inhabitants.
