Ludwik Dunaj-Main Canal or Ludwika Canal, simply in and around Nuremberg Old Channel - originally 172 km long canal Germany, in the federal state Bavaria, in regencies Upper Franconia, Middle Franconia, Upper Palatinate and Lower Bavaria. The canal dates back to the first half of the 19th century and is now used as a waterway. Still, there are about 100 mucus.
Characteristic
The canal ran between the mountains Steigerwald and Fränkische Schweiz, later Fränkische Alb and Oberpfälzer Jura. Its beginning was in Bamberg at the junction of the rivers Regnitz and Men and its end in Kelheim at the mouth Altmühl down Danube. It runs along the new one Rhine-Main-Danube canal from Nuremberg down Beilngries.
