Southern brazil includes the coastal regions, plains and hilly landscapes with a temperate climate in the extreme south of the country. The region is prosperous, dominated by agriculture and the territory of the gaúcho, the Brazilian cowboy and cattle herder.

- The Oktoberfest in Blumenau takes place in October. Local beers are called "Bierland", "Eisenbahn", "Gaspar", or "Wunderbier".

The area is considered one of the centers of the Brazilian beach nightlife because of the large number of tourists. Especially around Florianópolis and Camboriú are home to some of the chicest clubs in South America.
