(IATA: NUE) with about an hour's drive in the car. The airport Frankfurt(IATA: FRA), two hours' drive away.
The airfield Hassfurt-Schweinfurt is located near Haßfurt, approached via the Autobahn 70, Bamberg - Schweinfurt.

There is one in Schonungen 1 Stop on the railway line Bamberg – Schweinfurt – Wurzburg.
By bus
Several bus routes (e.g .: 8130, 8156) operated by Omnibusverkehr Franken GmbH (OVF) have stops in Schonungen.

On the steep south-facing slopes towards the Main there are three vineyards: (from west to east) Mainberger Mainleite, Mainberger Schlossberg and Schonunger Kreuzberg.
