Swinoujscie(Polish: Świnoujście) is a seaside resort and state-approved health resort (Seeheilbad) in Poland in the voivodeship West Pomerania at the mouth of the Odra Swine in the Pomeranian Bay on the islands Usedom and Wollin.

Swinoujscie is the westernmost seaside resort on the Polish Baltic coast. The center with the beach, promenade and spa park is on the island of Usedom. The smaller part of the city with the Warszów district is located on the island of Wollin. Both parts of the city are connected by a ferry.

getting there

Swinoujscie is across the island from the west Usedom or via the neighboring island Wollin best to achieve. Since December 2007 there have been two border crossings from Usedom: Ahlbeck-Swinemünde (B 111) and Garz-Swinemünde (B 110), which are well developed for traffic.

By plane

Connections between the districts

  • City ferries Bielik I-IV in the city center. Crossing for cars, cyclists and pedestrians free of charge, but only cars with the ZSW license plate are transported. Every 20 minutes from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., the crossing takes 8 minutes.
  • Ferries Karsibor I-IV, about 6 km south of the center: Free of charge, outside cars and trucks are also transported here.

Rental bikes

By bicycle (rower) it's easy to get around in Świnoujście, the bike paths are well developed and many tourist attractions are not within walking distance. There is also a well-developed network of cycle paths in the surrounding area. However, there is no major bike-sharing provider with a wide network of rental stations, only UsedomRad operates eight stations, some of which are manned.
