The Via Regia in Poland, also high Street called, begins in Przemyśl and leads over Jaroslaw, Przeworsk, Łańcut, Rzeszów, Dębica, Tarnów, Krakow, Ojców, Olkusz, Sławków, Będzin, Piekary Śląskie, Bytom, Tarnowskie Góry, Opole, Brzeg, Oława, Wroclaw, Środa Śląska, Legnica, Złotoryja, Lwówek Śląski, Luban to Zgorzelec. It follows the medieval royal and trade route from the Rus over Poland-Lithuania and Germany to France and Spain. The Polish section is about 500 km long and is located in the voivodships Subcarpathian, Lesser Poland, Silesia, Opole and Lower Silesia. He is part of the Polish Way of St. James. The highway follows the path Autostrada A4. The Via Regia is recognized by the European Union as a cultural route. The north turnoff Krakow to Vilnius follows the Via Jagiellonica.
