The Bohemian Elster Mountains extends between the Elster Mountains and the Bohemian Ore Mountains in the east and that Fichtel Mountains in the west along the border with Germany.

- 3 Luby - (German Schönbach) - small town in the eastern part; nearby the desert of Výspa (Drought green), which was abandoned after the expulsion of the German population. The memorial to those who fell in World War I was re-erected.

- 4 Plesná - (Eng. Fleißen) - directly on the Saxon border across from Bad Brambach located; three stone crosses from the 16th century.
- 5 Skalná - (German Wildstein) - between Franzensbad and Plesná; Not far away is the Soos moorland.

The railway lines Cheb–Oberkotzau and Aš–Adorf run through the area. There are the following stops 1 Aš railway station, 2 Aš město, 3 Aš předměstí and 4 Hranice v Čechách

The day pass for the second class costs 24 € (200 Kč in the Czech Republic) (plus 2 € in Germany if you buy at the counter) for the first person. For the 2nd to 5th person the additional charge is 8 € (100 Kč) each. You can make any number of trips with the participating transport companies on the day of validity until 3:00 a.m. the following day. In addition, you are allowed to take 3 children between 6 and 14 years and any number under 6 years with you. One bike per person is also free. The surnames and first names of all travelers must be entered in block letters on the ticket, identification must be carried.

- The nature reserve Soos (w: Soos) North-east of Franzensbad is a European rarity, where pure carbon dioxide escapes in so-called mofettes. There is a 1.2 km long nature trail that leads over the moor and reminds a bit of Icelandic natural spectacles, on a small scale.
