TerlanItalian: Terlano) is the northernmost municipality in South Tyrolean lowlands and has approx. 4,400 inhabitants. It consists of the main town Terlan and the districts {{Marker | name = Vilpian | type = villshr | lat = 46.558889 | long = 11.223889 | image =}(Vilpiano) and 1 (Settequerce).
background
Terlan lies in the fertile plain between the Etsch and the Tschögglberg ridge. The community is part of the South Tyrolean Wine Route, Fruit growing also plays an important role. The sandy soil of the Adige Valley enables asparagus to be grown here.

Tourist Attractions
- 1 Church of the Assumption of Mary. High Gothic style church. The free-standing tower is 75 m high. The nave is covered with glazed tiles. The clock is a special feature: the large hand shows the hours, the small hand the minutes. Next to the church is the St. Michael's Chapel.
- 2 St. Joseph, Vilpian.
- 3 Neuhaus castle ruins. The castle was a favorite residence of the countess Margaret of Tyrol, called Maultasch.
- 4 Greifenstein Castle. The also as Pig castle known area lies on a rock spur of the Tschögglberg in the area of the municipality Jenesien.
