Salurn(Italian: Salorno) is the southernmost community in South Tyrolean lowlands and has around 3,600 inhabitants. Below Salurn the Adige Valley narrows to 1 Salurn hermitage
, it forms the border to the province Trentino and is a historical border between the German and the Italian language.

The municipality of Salurn is located at the southern end of the South Tyrolean Wine Route. The main town 1 Salurn is located at 210-240 m altitude, the district 2 Buchholz(Pochi) is 550 m high, the village 3 Gfrill(Cauria is at an altitude of 1320 - 1340 m. Much of the municipality is in Trudner Horn Nature Park.
