Eppan on the Wine Route (ital. Appiano sulla Strada del Vino) is a parish in South-Tirol.

Together with Kaltern the area in the southern part of South Tyrol forms the Überetsch region. Located on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, Eppan's farmers are the largest wine producers in the country. Eppan consists of the following localities (German - Italian place names):

Eppan can be reached by bike via the cycle path, which is connected to the Adige cycle path and can therefore be easily reached from Bolzano, Merano and Trento. The Eppan bypass is connected to the Meran-Bozen (MeBo) expressway and via Kaltern to the A22 motorway. There may be traffic restrictions in the town centers (especially in St. Michael). The closest train station on the outskirts of the municipality is Sigmundskron - trains that connect Bolzano with Merano and the Vinschgau (Vinschgauer Bahn) run here.

You can fish on the small and large Montiggler Lake with a provisional fishing license. The license can be obtained from the Appiano Tourist Office for € 32 (2015). A day ticket for both Montiggler lakes costs 15 € (2015), it must be returned to the Office for Hunting and Fisheries after the end of the year for the purpose of compiling the catch statistics. Right in the center there is a "Despar" supermarket which is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. At the former train station there is the "Poli" supermarket, which is more (north) Italian oriented. In between, there is another "Despar". These last two are closed at lunchtime (12:30 pm-3:00pm). In the main town of St Michael there are several bakeries, a health food store, a very small bookstore by "Athesia", a fashion store, a travel agency, a paper shop, a telephone shop and other small shops.

In St. Pauls there is a small MPreis supermarket with a more Austrian offer (opening times: Mon-Sat from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.). Opposite the parking lot is an organic bread shop ("Ultner Brot"). The two butchers in the immediate vicinity of the village church have a good range of meat, including bacon and "Kaminwurzen" sausages. Also by the village church there is a baker ("Plazotta") a very small corner shop ("Doná") with a fruit and vegetable offer including organic and fair trade products. Tobacco products are also available from newsagents.

In Girlan there is a "Despar" supermarket at the bus stop and parking lot and a corner shop ("Doná") right by the village church.

Outside the residential area, to the south, Kaltern, right at the Mendelpass junction, there is a shopping center ("Maximode-Zentrum") with a play shop, supermarket, shoe shop, café. In the same building there is a DVD lending machine and an ATM ("Bancomat"). Big parking lot.
