In 1883, the actual station building followed according to plans by architect Paul Rowald in the neo-romantic style, and in 1908 another one-story building, in which a station restaurant was located until 2005. From the outside, little changed in the design of the Bad Hersfeld train station, only the interior was renovated and renewed several times, most recently in 2008.
