getting there

By plane

Airports are located in Frankfurt, Rooster and Saarbrücken.

By train

  • The 1 Breakpoint Ramsen is the terminus of the regional trains during the week, which run every hour from Frankenthal Hbf via Grünstadt. The trains continue to the stop on Sundays and public holidays only Eiswoog.
  • Enkenbach-Alsenborn, Regional traffic off Kaiserslautern and Bad Kreuznach, 10 km to the main town Ramsen
  • Grünstadt, Regional traffic off Alzey, Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Worms, 15 km
  • Kaiserslautern, Regional traffic and IC / ICE, 25 km
  • Bad Dürkheim, Regional traffic and connection to local traffic in Rhine-Neckar area, only limited bike transport, 30 km with steep inclines

In the street

The next motorway junction is Symbol: AS 18 Wattenheim an der A6. From there, Ramsen is already signposted as a destination.

Coming from the north is the next connection point Symbol: AS 12 Göllheim an der A63. The road between Göllheim and Ramsen is, however, a "hell trip" and must be avoided without mountain experience! The road is only single-lane, two vehicles can only meet by swerving onto the shoulder, and there are no warnings about sharp bends. Inexperienced drivers should better drive into Eisenberg and choose the well-developed route across the Eistal. A trap that one likes to tread into with or without a GPS is the road from Stauf down to Ramsen; this extremely steep road should also be avoided if possible.

On foot

The municipality of Ramsen is surrounded by many hiking trails in the Palatinate Forest Association and other hiking suggestions.

By bicycle

  • The West Palatinate cycle path happens the church Ramsen. Among other things, it follows the course of the Eisbach from Eiswoog until after Ebertsheim. This route is in both directions for low-grade travel through the Palatinate Forest suitable.
  • Eistal cycling route as a "feeder" to the Rhine cycle route: Ramsen is suitable as a starting point for a tour of Kaiserslautern to Worms. There the bike tour could go in the direction Mainz be continued.
