Zwoleń is a historic city in the polish Voivodeship Mazovia on the South Mazovian hill country at the Zwoleńka, a tributary of the Vistula, at the edge of Kozienice Heath. The city is located in the historical region Radomer-Country, part of the Sandomirer Lands, in the northeast Lesser Poland. Lived and worked here around the middle of the 16th century Jan Kochanowski, the most important Polish Renaissance poet who lived in the nearby Czarnolas was born.
