Ivanovo (Russian: Ива́ново) is the capital of Ivanovo Oblast in Central Russia.

Ivanovo is compared to the other cities of the Golden ring Relatively young, the first documentary mention comes from the year 1561. The place became important through an order of Tsar Peter I, who ordered the construction of textile factories here.
