Yuryev-Polski (Russian: Юрьев-Польский) is a small town in Central Russia.

The town Yuryev-Polski takes its name from its founder on the one hand Yuri Dolgoruky and on the other hand, of their location in the Vladimir Opolye, the field with fertile black earth. The name Yuri is also a short form of the name George, who gave the cathedral its name.
