Geographical notes
The Vallazza nature reserve is a protected natural area in the Lombardy region established in 1991. It consists of a vast wetland area of about 6 km along the river Mincio in province of Mantua, within the Mincio Regional Park. It is included among the municipalities of Mantua is Borgo Virgilio.
Flora and fauna
The protected area is characterized by the alternation of spontaneous willow groves, hedges, marshy areas and stretches of water rich in floating vegetation. The remarkable naturalistic value is proven by the presence of 279 different plant species, of which 62 are classified as rare in the river valley Little.

- 1 Fort of Pietole. Military structure built in 1808.
