The town Auerbach (Vogtland) lies in the Göltzschtal and is after Plauen and Reichenbach the third largest city in the Saxon Vogtland.

Auerbach, first mentioned in 1282, is a small town in the Vogtland with around 19,700 inhabitants, which is located about 24 kilometers north of the Czech border in Saxony lies. The most famous symbol of the city is the Auerbach castle tower from the 12th century. Auerbach has a typically medieval, compact city center and numerous more distant districts. The two state-approved resorts are worth mentioning Beerheide and Snarling fir.

In addition to other cities in the Vogtland Auerbach was killed by skirmishes between the Reichswehr and the workers in 1920/21 w: Max Hoelz affected. The bullet holes can still be seen on some buildings.

By train

Auerbach is from Zwickau and Plauen as well as from Czech Republic without changing with the Vogtlandbahn accessible. For train travelers to Auerbach Leipzig, Nuremberg and Dresden is a change in Zwickau or Plauen required.

Auerbach cross two different railway lines that stop at different train stations in the city. A direct change between the two lines is not possible. When traveling by train to Czech Republic can buy tickets up to Sokolov and Carlsbad in Auerbach or on the train at the machine.
