Borgoforte is a center of the Lombardy.
To know
On 4 February 2014, following the merger of the municipalities of Borgoforte and Virgil and with the birth of Borgo Virgilio, Borgoforte has become a fraction of it.
Background
According to tradition and the most authoritative philologists, in the nearby hamlet of Pietole, identified with the ancient Andes, the Latin poet would be born Virgil.
