Marktleugast is located on the south-eastern edge of the Franconian Forest Nature Park and consists of the following districts:

The name part deer in many districts has nothing to do with the local game, but comes from the medieval regret, (clearing today, the clearing) probably from the 11th century.

  • The Zechteich nature trail is around 800 meters long and provides information on 35 boards
  • The Mühlenweg (Circular hike) leads through deeply cut valleys past eleven former mills and a hammer mill. Start is in Neumühle, 95355 Presseck, length 18 km, duration about 4 to 6 hours, added altitude about 600 meters, marking: green mill wheel on a white background.
