The municipality of Stegaurach consists of the districts of Stegaurach (main town), Debring, Dellerhof, Dellern, Hartlanden, Höfen, Kaifeck, Knottenhof, Kreuzschuh, Mühlendorf, Mutzershof, Seehöflein, Unteraurach and Waizendorf

getting there

By plane

The nearest international airport is in Nuremberg, for sports pilots there is in Bamberg a small airfield.

By train and bus

The next train station is in Bamberg, then continue by bus.

Immediately in front of the station building in Bamberg you will find bus stops of the Verkehrsgemeinschaft Bamberg (VGB) and taxi stands. The community can be reached via several bus lines that run at least every hour, such as city bus line 912 and lines 8243 and 4245 of Omnibusverkehr Franken (OVF).

Local public transport in the Nuremberg metropolitan region is operated by the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association VGN operated. It is possible to use different means of transport, such as bus, train, S-Bahn or U-Bahn, with one ticket. The tickets can be purchased online or via an app.

In the street

From the east coming highway A70 Direction Bamberg. Then onto the autobahn A73 Direction Nuremberg, take the Bamberg-Süd exit, go straight on at the 1st traffic light, turn left at the 2nd and 3rd traffic lights and then go straight on on the B 22, Münchner Ring. After leaving the village, turn right at the "Stegaurach / Walsdorf" exit.

From the west on the highway A3 the exit Key field shut down and via Reichmannsdorf and Burgebrach Drive on the federal road B 22 in the direction of Bamberg.

The dormouse chapel
  • The Village church Stegaurach from the years 1746/47 has a remarkable Dominican altar from the Bamberg Dominican Church, donated in 1763, which was created by B. Kamm in a classic Rococo style. The nave was replaced by a modern church in 1999, only the old tower with the high altar remained in its original state
  • In Stegaurach that Boettinger country house, was built around 1725 at the instigation of J. J. Tobias von Böttinger by Johann Dientzenhofer with a wide front and outside staircase as a castle-like country house.

The floodplains of the Aurach
  • Walks in the floodplains of the Aurach river; the water nature trail Tour on the water (pdf) begins in Mühlendorf and ends in Höfen. The length is 8 km and there are 10 information boards.
