Rattelsdorf consists of 13 smaller villages, all of which are in the immediate vicinity, with Ebing being the second largest village. Below is a list of all localities: Busendorf, Ebing, Freudeneck, Helfenroth, Hilkersdorf, Höfen, Höfenneusig, Medlitz, Mürsbach, Poppendorf, Rattelsdorf, Speiersberg and Zaugendorf.
The historic Mürsbach is one of the most important historical ensembles of village half-timbered architecture in Franconia. The center consists mainly of renovated half-timbered buildings from the 16th to 19th centuries, which often show rich figurations typical of the region with firebucks and diamond crosses.
Freudeneck is the smallest town in the Bamberg district that has its own brewery.

The Itz, a tributary of the Main, offers an original river landscape that is ideal for boat trips. But the Main also has beautiful stretches to offer.
- Between Lichtenfels and Hallstadt became the Canoe trail Obermain created. To protect the breeding birds, entry and exit is only permitted at 12 marked entry and exit points that are equipped with an information system. From the river they can be recognized by the signs with the orange bar and the red-green levels.
