Baunach is a city on the edge of the Hatred Mountains in the western Upper Franconia in the district Bamberg.

Baunach calls itself the Franconian three-river city because it is on the rivers Baunach, Lauter and Main lies.

By plane
The nearest international airport is the Nuremberg Airport
(IATA: NUE).
By train and bus
Baunach is located on the 18-kilometer branch line from Boars to Breitengüßbachwhere they join the main line Nuremberg – Lichtenfels connects.
Since 2006, two to three pairs of trains have only run from Monday to Friday from / to Breitengüßbach with a transfer time of 5 minutes at the station, all other trains run from / to Bamberg. For this purpose, a 90-minute cycle was set up on weekdays from 12 noon to 8 pm. The journey time from Bamberg to Ebern is 35 minutes
Local public transport in the Nuremberg metropolitan region is operated by the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association VGN operated. It is possible to use different means of transport with one ticket, such as bus, train, S-Bahn or U-Bahn. The tickets can be purchased online or via an app.

- Local history museum Baunach in the Old Town Hall (formerly Schadeck Castle), Burgstrasse 2, 96148 Baunach, Tel. 49 (0) 9544/2990, open every 4th Sunday of the month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and at the parish fair, old town festival and Christmas market. It was built from 1742 to 1746 by master builder Justus Dientzenhofer.
- The city parish church Saint Oswald from 823, with the tower from 1244 and the choir from 1460 is one of the oldest churches in the Bamberg district. Inside you can see the baroque high altar and a large church organ
- The old Ossuary behind the church of Sankt Oswald
- The historical market place with half-timbered houses
- The late Gothic Magdalenenkapelle at the cemetery, with a high altar from 1693 and the grave of the blessed Überkum
- The Youth home or the old kindergarten, in the past Children's institution, from 1911 on the Lauter
- The 600 year old, historic inn Obleyhof on the marketplace
