Boars is a city in the Hassbergen in the northern Lower Franconia. The charming half-timbered town still has remains of the medieval city wall to offer, the six still preserved historical towers are the landmark. In the Middle Ages, the place was close to important road and trade connections - the medieval old town still bears witness to this time.

background

Ebern is documented for the first time as Lützelebern Mentioned in 1151 and again in 1230 as "civitas" (a fortified place with walls and towers). The town received its town charter in 1335 from King Ludwig the Bavarian and almost 100 years later in 1430, most of the city burned down. During the Thirty Years War many buildings in the town are destroyed.

The neighboring communities in the direction of Bamberg can be reached by train via the terminus in Ebern. The community and its districts are about the VGN Transport association serving the greater Nuremberg area. However, a car is recommended to move between the many small towns.

The Ebern skittles is an arrangement of what used to be eight towers around the medieval city fortifications, with the parish church tower in the middle as the ninth tower. In the 19th century three towers were demolished, so that today only six remain (goose tower, thief tower, gray tower, stork tower, parish garden tower and the tower of the parish church).
