Bundorf is a community in Lower Franconia on the northern edge of the district Hatred Mountains. The region is very rural, with almost half of the area being forest. The municipality is covered by the Baunach flowed through and is bordered by the north and west of the Bundorfer or to the Rottensteiner Forest. Peace and quiet in one of the most sparsely populated areas in West Germany is guaranteed.

Bundorf was first mentioned in a document in 1170. The noble family Truchsessen from Wetzhausen Occupied in Bundorf since 1343, it is still owned by Bundorf Castle today. In 1814 the area fell to Bavaria. The community and its districts have existed since 1978.

Important: Street names and house numbers have been changed in the community, some of which have not yet been taken over from the online maps (as of Feb. 2020).

To the west of the districts of Stöckach and Walchenfeld lies the Rottenstein Forest. The following hiking trails run through it:
