Trentino-South Tyrol is a region in Northern Italy. It consists of the two autonomous provinces of South Tyrol (Italian: Alto Adige) and Trentino (formerly Welschtirol).

While the majority of residents in South Tyrol speak German, almost only Italian is spoken in Trentino.
getting there
By plane
The nearest international airports are in Verona (100 km south of Trento) or innsbruck in Austria (120 km north of Bolzano).
The Bozen commercial airport (BZO) is only flown to in the summer season in charter traffic, but there are no scheduled flights.
By train
- Bolzano and Trento are on the railway line between Innsbruck and Verona. All trains that go to Italy via the Brenner Pass stop at Trento station.
- From Trento there is a train connection through the Val Sugana to Venice.
By car
The fastest way to get there from Germany is via the A22 / E45 Brenner motorway via Innsbruck.

- Bunker of the Italian Alpine Wall: In South Tyrol, during the construction of the Alpine Wall between the late 1920s and October 1942, over 350 bunkers were built, with each plant being adapted to the local conditions and no bunker being the same as the other - a masterpiece of engineering and technology that can be found in several locations from Vinschgau to in the Pustetal can also be visited.
Attention: State museums are closed on Mondays.

The cuisine in Trentino and South Tyrol is less Italian. This is due to the region's relative remoteness in the mountains and, on the other hand, to the long association with Austria. The traditional cuisine of the farmers is a very poor, high-calorie and hearty cuisine, based on what little the soil and the harsh climate produce.
Tenno applies with Arco and Varone as the original area of the traditional meat dish Carne Salada. 
The dish is mostly made from beef, but veal and horse meat are also used. The meat is salted and then stored in a container with spices for 25 days. It can be eaten raw as a carpaccio, boiled or fried. Traditionally it is made with beans (Fasoi) served.
