The Ederbergland is a large part of the old Frankenberg district, which was added to the Waldeck-Frankenberg district in the course of the Hessian district reform in 1973.

The nearest commercial airports are Paderborn Lippstadt Airport and Frankfurt.
The Allendorf / Eder airfield, which is used as a company airfield by the Viessmann works and by the Ederbergland air sports club, is available for private pilots.
By train
While the Warburg-Sarnau railway, served by regional train line 42 (KBS 622 - Brilon-Korbach-Frankenberg (Eder)-Marburg) the Kurhessenbahn, is still in regular operation, take place on the railway line between Battenberg (Eder) and Frankenberg (Eder) only special trips and freight traffic take place.
