  • To 9 Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, to the Monarch butterfly after their hike to their winter quarters. Every year in early November these butterflies migrate from Canada to California to the Sierra Nevada. The moths find winter quarters in the Valle de Bravo, at Piedra Herrada and in designated protected areas like the Reserva de la Biósfera Santuario Mariposa Monarca. There are tours from Toluca to the wintering sites.
