security

As in many parts of Mexico, the security situation in Sonore is critical. This applies above all to the border area with the USA, to which smuggling routes for drugs, but also for migrants, lead. These are fiercely contested between rival gangs who in fact have power. Shootings are the order of the day. The Federal Foreign Office advises against stays in the border area with the USA that go beyond pure border crossing.
