Teruel is surrounded by the provinces Zaragoza, Tarragona, Castellón, Valencia, Cuenca and Guadalajara.
Much of the province is located in the southern Aragon highlands. It belongs to the Iberian Mountains and is a high plateau, on the edges of which deep ravines have been dug. The climate is characterized by drought and strong temperature fluctuations.
