Visiting caves (show caves) has long been part of the tourism industry. Guided tours are usually offered and information on the origins, discovery and former use is disclosed. You can compare it to a museum.
However, one has to distinguish between show caves and natural caves. In the second one is usually only allowed with scientific support and approval.
