Campania is a region in the south ItalyIt is located in the west and southwest on the Tyrrhenian Sea (part of the Mediterranean) and borders the following regions: in the northwest Lazio, in the north Molise, to the northeast Apulia and in the east Basilicata.
Regions
Campania consists of the provinces of Avellino, Benevento, Caserta, Naples and Salerno. Travel regions from north to south:

- Greater Naples
- the Sorrentine Peninsula
- Irpinia east of Avellino.
- Gulf of Salerno
- The Amalfi coast With Amalfi.

With a few exceptions, the roads are generally in good condition. The road network is closely linked. However, especially smaller places in the mountains or along the rocky coasts can only be reached via small, often very winding roads. Highways are often congested due to the heavy traffic and do not always get their names right. Signage is often, but not always, in place so a good sense of direction is helpful. In city maps, one should note that streets that appear to be next to each other can sometimes be separated by 10 meters in altitude.
The driving style, especially in Naples itself, takes getting used to and not for the faint-hearted. It is unwise to insist on traffic rules or your right of way when someone else was faster. Instead, you adapt to local customs and the flow of traffic. Traffic signs, including traffic lights, like lane markings, are more of a recommendation. You drive to the right, but not always that either.

The main cities of Campania are owned by the state railway company Trenitalia approached. There are both express trains and regional trains.
The eastern and southern environs of Naples can be reached by a suburban train, the Circumvesuviana, connected with 6 lines.
by bus
Buses run everywhere where there are no trains, so that every place can be reached without a car. However, losses of time when changing trains and the not always direct route are to be expected.

There is a tariff association for all modes of transport in the larger cities (city bus and, where applicable, trams, underground trains and funicolars), intercity buses, Circumvesuviana and Trenitalia throughout Campania. However, ferries are excluded. The region is divided into various tariff zones concentrically around Naples, in addition the cities such as Benevento or Avellino have their own tariff zones. There are different tickets for trips within the cities, trips from the surrounding area to Naples, trips within the surrounding area with a change in Naples or without a change. Tickets of this tariff association are valid in all means of transport, according to the selected tariff zones, but must be validated again each time you change trains. The islands such as Capri, Ischia, Procida etc. are connected from Naples and with each other by a dense network of ferries.
