The state Campeche located in Mexico on the Yucatán Peninsula. It is limited in the northeast by the states Yucatan and Quintana Roo, in the southwest of Tabasco. Part of the south borders Guatemala, but there is still no road connection there.

Village in Campeche
- The capital is officially called 1 San Francisco de Campeche
, has approx. 250,000 inhabitants, is a rather quiet town with Spanish houses, towers and ruins, and is therefore also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travelers can admire the sights in an old tram "Tranvía de la Ciudad". There is an international airport here.
- 2 Ciudad del Carmen
- 170,000 inhabitants, on an island connected to the mainland by bridges, also has an international airport.
- 3 Champotón
- Halfway between Campeche and Carmen, known for its seafood and its beaches.

Village in Campeche
- Most tourists only make a stop in the capital, Campeche. Here you can find Spanish colonial style paired with pirate romance as a world cultural heritage site. But during the heyday of the Mayas, was found in this area in the south Calakmul the center of power, which is a region of Tabasco in the north up Honduras ruled in the south. The ruins, deep in the rainforest surrounded by a biosphere reserve, can be visited.
