Xpujil is a city in Campeche in Mexico.

background

Map of Xpujil

This small town in the south of Mexico is particularly known for the surrounding Maya ruins. The plant of Xpuhil can be found directly in the village. The region was already settled in the early pre-classical period and had the most densely populated area in the Maya world during the classical period. There are 100 more Mayan ruin cities around the place. Many are not yet accessible, but those that are already accessible are convincing. Furthermore, the place is the only smaller village and has a petrol station, which makes this place a central point of contact for visitors to the region. Since the city itself has little to offer, tourists usually only stay for a short time.
