Malpasito is a Mayan ruin in Tabasco in Mexico.

The settlement of the city leads into the classical period and had its peak between 700 AD. and AD 900 Numerous finds show strong influences and contacts from the Mexican highlands, among others Teotihuacan.

getting there

By plane

The nearest airports are in Villahermosa and in Tuxtla Gutiérrez. From here the road continues.

In the street

Malpasito is located directly on the toll road MEX 187 D (often referred to as MEX145D on cards) Coatzacoalcos - Tuxtla Gutiérrez and has a departure. It is only a few kilometers from the exit to the village; there you follow the signs Zona Arqueologica to the ruins just under a kilometer southwest of the village.

From Villahermosa you drive the MEX 180 in a westerly direction to the city of Cárdenas (approx. 50 km). In the city center, change to MEX 187 in a southerly direction (towards Huimanguillo). After about 100 km and the settlement of Rómulo Calzada, turn right towards Malpasito. After approx. 3 km you reach the village of Malpasito. If you cross this place from east to west, the archaeological site is about one kilometer outside of the city.

From 1 Entrance you move across the area on foot. It is about 300 meters to the main square. The path is reasonably paved. Sturdy and, especially in the rainy season, waterproof footwear is advisable.

Tourist Attractions

One has been found here so far 1 central plaza, around which there are 53 structures and a ball playground on a 14 hectare area.
