Nohmul is a Maya ruin in the Orange Walk District in Belize.
Nohmul is Mayan and means big mouth. This city had its heyday in the late Klassic period and at that time a size of approx. 3,000 inhabitants. Various structures are spread over a few square kilometers. Most of the plant is overgrown with grass. In May 2013, the site hit the headlines when it became known that a temple had been removed by an excavator to use the rock for road construction.
