Xkipché is a Mayan ruin in Yucatan in Mexico.
background
The construction phases on the largest building indicate a high phase between the 7th century. AD and the 10th century AD out. Probably the city was under the influence of Uxmal or was even part of it. The ruins were discovered by Teoberto Maler in 1893. But it was not until 1986 that the site was rediscovered. From 1994 onwards, excavations were carried out here again and again. The facility is currently not accessible.
getting there
By plane
The closest airport is undoubtedly the one in Merida. Alternatively there is the in Campeche, but it also has a poorer road connection to the greater distance.
By train
In the street
From the center of Merida and from the airport you drive in a south-westerly direction Uman. Here you turn in a southerly direction (direction Xtepen and Uxmal) and after 5 km cross the MEX 180 onto the MEX 261, which you now follow for approx. 80 km. After 55 km you reach Uxmal. The ruins of Xkipché are 9 km southwest of Uxmal.
