Aké is a ruined city of the Maya in Yucatan in Mexico.

The approx. 35 km from Merida distant Maya city was founded in the pre-classical period and was inhabited until the 15th century AD. During this period, around 500 buildings were built on an area of approx. 5 km², of which only a fraction has so far been exposed. The place had connecting roads Izamal and Merida.

By plane
The nearest airport is in Merida (MID) and is used by numerous internalional airports in the United States flown to directly. From here it is about 35 km, which can be covered by bus or car.
By train
There is a railway line near Aké, but it has only been used for freight transport since the 1990s.
In the street
You drive from here by car Merida the YUC 80 towards Izamal. After about 35 km you will reach the small town of Tixkokob, where the system is located.

Tourist Attractions
The complex to be visited essentially consists of a plaza with a few temples. The highlight here is a large step pyramid with numerous columns on top.
