background
This system was examined and analyzed for the first time by the British Museum as early as 1929. Numerous steles were uncovered and some were taken out of the country. It was not until 1979 that further investigations were carried out, which, in addition to a 30-meter-high pyramid, interesting connections with the Maya city Quiriguá brought to light. The city emblem of this appears here many times. But the emblems are much older than the oldest emblem found in Quiriguá so far. Hence there is the not undisputed thesis that this city was dependent on Pusilhá. But everything indicates that the city was completely independent until the end of the Classical period. The oldest entries in the city are from 81 AD. Others are from the year 150 AD, but it wasn't until 570 AD that a continuous line of kings could be established here, which continued until the city was abandoned around 750 AD has ruled.
